I'm Rachel. My deepest commitment is to preserving the sanctity of womanhood through the portals of pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I value personal sovereignty, physiologic truth, and honoring what is sacred in this life.

My work in women's health began as a birth doula in 2020. Then continued as a midwifes apprentice for a year and a half. At that point I began my 9 month long intensive postpartum care training with Innate Traditions. Now I am serving women in the postpartum period as well as attending homebirths as a birth doula.

I support women 1:1 in-person and online. And I work with women in groups; holding workshops, village prenatals or women's circles.

I see women's bodies as sacred and birth as a normal yet simultaneously the most powerful, transformational life experience. I know spontaneous healing is possible and this human experience as one that is deeply purposeful.

I offer postpartum support in-person and birth-integration sessions online. I also offer Sovereign birth support for women in the Northern VA, MD, and WV areas.

When I'm not working, I enjoy my feet on the earth, reading, taking baths, singing, eating good food and connecting with community. I am here to bring forth a new paradigm where women reclaim their innate power as free, resilient, self-healing humans.

Words from Clients

"It is hard to imagine my birth and early postpartum experience without Rachel in it. Rachel was a grounding, inspiring, and calming force that helped me ride out my 16 hour labor to meet my beautiful baby girl. Her intuitive touch and affirmations helped guide me closer and closer to meeting my daughter. Just knowing that she was around, made me feel safe and capable. I feel so lucky to have had her as a part of my birth team! And hope she can be there for all my babies!!

As a postpartum doula/support, I really cannot recommend Rachel enough...having her support and care in those early weeks had a profound impact on my recovery physically, emotionally, and spiritually.  And also gave me direction on where to go once our time together ended. She gave me endless tools, encouragement, and love that helped me tap into my own power in my new role as Mother. The bodywork, sacred rituals, and a gentle, non-judgemental ear to listen made me feel so deeply loved, supported, and SEEN. Rachel is so incredibly gifted in this birth realm and a gift to the birthing community."

In our session together, I felt seen and held and guided back to my body in a way I haven't experienced before. Rachel validated my experience, laughed with me and held the space for me to cry and release so much of what I had been storing. I walked in so heavy with the burden of all I had been carrying and left feeling years lighter. I felt truly seen and held by another woman which is so rare and so healing in and of itself. Connecting with my body, seemed like such an abstract faraway concept before but I feel so much more grounded in my ability to connect with my body now. I am eternally grateful for Rachel’s guidance and presence and look forward for future work with her.

After the birth of my first child in 2021, I suffered from postpartum depression and struggled with my transition into motherhood. Working with Rachel was a wonderful experience!  Rachel provided bodywork services that aided in my physical healing after birth, to include massages and a closing of the bones ceremony.

Rachel held space for me and supported me emotionally as I experienced the many conflicting emotions and the emotional stretching it requires to care for a toddler also experiencing "big feelings" after a new sibling's arrival.  Rachel talked through and helped troubleshoot some bumps in the road that I was experiencing as a new mother of two; including tandem breastfeeding demands, and learning to entrust my husband in his new full-time parenting role of my toddler. Rachel also helped me attack some items on my to-do list, as well as helping support me during my new baby's first bath, which allowed me to calm my nervous system. Rachel is an excellent cook and baker!  Her flavorful, warm, and healthy meals and baked goods are a welcomed and appreciated treat for the whole family during the first 40 days!  Postpartum Doulas are worth their weight in Gold, and Rachel is no exception to this sentiment; if you hire her, you will be glad that you did.

Entering into my healing session with Rachel, I immediately felt a sense of security and comfort that enveloped me throughout and even stayed with me for the rest of the day. She is extremely gifted as a facilitator, providing a natural flow that had me easily delving into some intense and painful realms of my energetic body while still feeling anchored and safe. I felt incredibly nurtured by her during the session. I was able to connect to my womb and body with more depth than I ever have before, and as a result have been able to access my own sense of desire and what it is that I truly want out of life with a whole new level of clarity.
